Yuvraj undergoing chemotherapy: reports

Unconfirmed reports have suggested that star Indian batsman Yuvraj Singh may have cancer and is undergoing chemotherapy in the United States of America. There has been no confirmation on this development from Yuvraj or his family, but prominent news channel NDTV said that the batsman had a tumour between his lungs and heart, and was undergoing chemotherapy that would go on till March 2012. Yuvraj reportedly started the treatment in February, after leaving for the US on January 26th.

The tumour had been detected earlier and diagnosed as non-malignant, but the diagnosis has changed to 'malignant' according to the news channel.

Yuvraj had won the Man-of-the-Tournament award at the 2011 World Cup after a stellar show with bat and ball that was instrumental in India becoming World Champions.

Earlier, there were reports that he had gone to the US for surgery but on February 1 Yuvraj tweeted: "Haven't done any surgery! I don't no we're does Such news come from I'm just on medication !"

He had tweeted late last month that he was reading legendary cyclist Lance Armstrong's autobiography, who had won his battle against cancer.

"Reading lance Armstrong s book it's not about the bike ! I'm sure it will motivate me and pull me throu this time! Livestrong yuvstrong,"he had tweeted.
