Thank you for your prayers, says Amitabh

Keeping up his habit of updating fans through blog posts and tweets, Amitabh Bachchan has posted his first tweets after his abdominal surgery earlier today. "Back ..!! Thank you for your prayers.. your love and wishes never fail..indebted for life, one that I shall never be able to pay back," he posted. Giving details of his surgery the Big B said "Took long because 2 surgeries had to be done on either side..yes there is pain, but nothing good in life ever achieved without it." "Took almost 5 hrs on the OT, but could feel the concern and wishes of the TwFmXt every minute .. you all are incredible .. thank you," he added. Earlier his son and actor Abhishek Bachchan tweeted about his surgery saying, "Thank you all for your wishes and prayers. The surgery went off well and dad is now in the room resting." The doctors also updated the media about the surgery, which has left the actor's millions of fans concerned about his health. "He got admitted today morning and he is undergoing surgery right now and the surgery is going on well," a doctor told reporters outside the hospital. He said that Bachchan had come to the hospital complaining of "pain in the abdomen". Bachchan was examined and he underwent tests and it was found that surgical interventions will relieve him of his problems and the actor agreed. He, however, refused to give details about the megastar's medical condition, just saying he was stable. He is very stable... I will not comment on his medical condition, it is his personal thing. All I can say is that he underwent an abdomen surgery," the doctor said. The actor suffered a famous and near fatal intestinal injury while filming a fight scene in 1982 movie Coolie. He remained in hospital for many months with fans camping outside. Mr Bachchan was again admitted to hospital in 2005 and underwent bowel surgery. Shah Rukh Khan has posted his wishes for Amitabh Bachchan on Twitter. "@SrBachchan sir wish u the best.jaldi hi theek thaak hokar aap aa jayein..my prayers and love to u sir. Nasrun minal lahe wah fatahun kareeb." Last night veteran actor Dilip Kumar, who joined Twitter on his 89th birthday on December 11 and was introduced by Amitabh Bachchan, posted his wishes. "Our prayers are with you (@SrBachchan) for your safe and quick recovery. Ameen."
